Rose thought what she could upcycle, and decided she wanted to save something from the bin and make good use of it.
She decided to make a flower pot out of an old plastic bottle.
After taking off the label and cutting it in half it was ready for filling.
Compost and a sunflower seed were added to the half of bottle and given a good watering.
We will now wait for it to grow and will keep checking to make sure that the bottle has done it’s job as an upcycled flower pot.

Rosie’s top 10 upcycling tips are:
- Always think about upcycling and try to find new uses for things you might throw away.
- Don’t throw away any good materials such as bottles or boxes.
- Be careful when cutting bottles as might have sharp edges.
- Make sure you are safe with scissors or supervised.
- Make sure you research and plan carefully before starting.
- Think about final location and materials used, e.g cardboard in the rain.
- If in doubt check with an adult first.
- Decorate to the max.
- Make sure all materials are clean before starting.
- Have fun.
